LEAD CATEGORY BUYER

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Execute global category strategies for assigned electromechanical categories in partnership with the Global Category Director and the lead buyers.
• Provide project key information to category leads, so they may quote the required BoM item(s) within their commodity category.
• Continuous review of BoM and tool costs given target updates during awarding process.
• Support regional benchmarking activities for assigned commodities to determine best in class suppliers
• Collaborate with engineering to confirm technical approval of supplier offers and required validation plans for alternative material approvals
• Support and execute cost reduction ideas

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• At least BSc degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related discipline
• 5+ years of relevant purchasing experience in the Automotive industry
• Strong knowledge and understanding of Automotive Supply Chain and life cycle
• Extensive knowhow of purchasing methods and tools
• Strong negotiation skills and business acumen
• Ability to transfer technical matters into economic considerations
• Knowledge in cost calculation
• Strong communication skills and assertiveness
• High stress resilience
• Business fluent English communication skills (written and verbal)
